Voltria's services reduce the heating costs of district-heated properties without any investment from the property. There are two services, and which one fits depends on the property's size, age and location. Intelligence optimises the existing heating according to actual conditions. Hybrid adds an alternative heat source alongside district heating. Neither reduces living or working comfort.
Finnish properties are typically heated on the safe side: control is based on outdoor temperature, and indoor spaces are often warmer than they need to be. That is paid for every month.
With Intelligence, heating is controlled based on what is actually happening in the property. Remotely read temperature sensors are installed in the spaces, and control responds to real indoor temperatures and the weather forecast. Overheating disappears, temperature differences between spaces even out, and the heating bill gets smaller without anyone noticing a difference in daily life.
The service includes the sensors, intelligent control, continuous monitoring and a monthly savings report. Deployment is light: the work in the heat distribution room is done in a single visit with no heating interruption, and the existing district heating controller usually stays in place as is.
Hybrid includes everything in Intelligence, and in addition a second heat source is installed alongside district heating. Heat is continuously produced with whichever source is cheapest at that moment. District heating stays in place and runs whenever it is the most economical option or if the second source has a fault. Security of heat supply therefore improves rather than weakens.
Thanks to the two heat sources, Hybrid reduces not only energy costs but also the district heating capacity charge, which in many properties is a significant part of the annual cost. That is why Hybrid has a larger savings potential than Intelligence and pays off best in properties that need a lot of heating power.
Installation typically takes 1-2 weeks and covers everything needed, from HVAC and electrical work to updating the HVAC drawings. It is done without a heating interruption and is included in the price of the service.
Both services work on the same model, built so that the property takes no risk: we are responsible for the equipment, installation, maintenance and monitoring for the entire contract period. The property makes no investment and ties up no capital.
